Sarnia Riding Club Aquatic Program
Welcome back for another great summer at the Sarnia Riding Club Pool! My goal for this summer is to make the pool area a safe and enjoyable environment. With creative and innovative ideas, I hope to make this season new and exciting. Be sure to keep an eye out for program and activity postings around the pool area to stay informed of all of the events that we have planned for you. We have a great team of lifeguards and we are all looking forward to seeing you around the pool this summer!

A. POOL SCHEDULES
Summer Schedule
A. LESSON REGISTRATION
The deadline for lesson registration is June 15th. You will find the registration here. The registrations must be completed on-line or must be mailed or dropped off to the office by the deadline of June 15th so that the lesson schedule can be developed and coordinated with the tennis program
We will continue to run 4 two week sessions with classes taking place Monday to Friday between 9:45 and noon. We will also offer Bronze Star, Medallion and Cross classes in two-four week sessions running in the mid-afternoon. These classes will be run on Monday to Thursday with 2 in class sessions and 2 pool sessions a week.

D. ADDITIONAL PROGRAMS
Swim Team
The swim team is a summer long program that is designed to provide swim workouts for youths. It helps to improve endurance, strokes and may various swimming techniques, as well as giving everybody a chance to make good friends. The Senior swim team (for ages 10 through 16) will continue to run Monday through Friday 8:00am to 900am. The Junior swim team (ages 9 and under) will run Monday through Friday 9:00am to 9:45am. There will be a trial week offered during the first week of session I where all those interested can try this program out at no cost.
Aqua Aerobics
We will again be offering this popular program this summer. Aqua Aerobics is a no impact cardio vascular workout. It will be held between 12:00 and 1:00 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and from 6:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday and Thursdays.
Masters
This program is centered on fun and fitness for adults. The lifeguards will lead you through workouts designed to accommodate swimmers of all levels. It will be offered Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 12:00 to 1:00, and Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00 to 7:00 pm.
Bronze Medallion and Bronze Cross
These are advanced level courses from the Life Saving Society. Bronze Medallion is a prerequisite for Bronze Cross. All candidates must be at least 13 years old before the final exam. To take Bronze Cross all candidates must be at least 14 years of age and have successfully completed the Bronze Medallion course. It is recommended to complete the Red Cross Swim Kids program. These classes are offered in the afternoon at:
Lectures: Monday and Wednesday 12:00pm to 2:00 Pool: Tuesday and Thursday 12:00pm to 1:00
Bronze Star
This program is for 11 & 12 year old, who have completed the Red Cross Swim Kids program, and is designed to keep youths involved in swimming. It aids to develop lifesaving skills through rescues and fitness. Bronze Star is a lead into Bronze Medallion.
Diving
This class will again be offered this summer in sessions two and four. Swimmers must have completed at least Red Cross Swim Kids level 6.
Stroke Improvement
Junior and Senior stroke improvement will be offered as requested.
Cardio Club
The Cardio Club is open to any adult, who wants to either get back into shape, get into racing condition, or just wants to try something new. This new club is open to all adult members of any skill and conditioning levels. It is a fun way to meet others, have structured workouts, and work towards achieving fitness goals.
3 Sessions a week: Tuesday 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm Thursday 7:00pm – 8:00 pm Saturday 11:00 am – 12:00 pm
There will be a brief meeting on Tuesday June 26th at 6pm in the porch bar to provide example workouts of the training program and to answer any questions. The first training session will begin at 7pm on Tuesday July 3rd.

Monday Night Water Polo
Orientation / Lifeguard Exhibition Game Monday June 25th, 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Regular Scheduled Water Polo Game Nights Monday July 2nd 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm Monday July 9th 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm Monday July 16th 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm Monday July 23rd 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm Monday August 6th 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm Monday August 13th 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm Monday August 20th 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm Monday August 27th 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm
These nights are meant for interclub team games. Each night will have two different games, 7:00 – 7:30 and 7:30 - 8:00. The games will be done in the shallow and deep ends of the pool (depending on age of participants) and will be watched over by the lifeguards or Greg/Bronwen. Each team will need at least 5 players playing at 1 time and substitutions are allowed. More rules will be explained at the games.
E. BABY POOL
The wading pool is intended for the use of non-swimmers and those under the age of 5 who cannot swim in the large pool. Children who are able to swim comfortably in the large pool will be asked not use the baby pool. Remember that supervision is
MANDATORY for a child that is in the baby pool area. Parents or caregivers must be attending to the children to keep the aquatic environment safe.
F. HIGH DIVING BOARD POLICY
This policy will not be changing from previous years. To use the high board you must be 10 years old or turning 10 in 2007. This board will not be open during pool parties or leisure swim.
G. GUEST POLICY
Members are allowed to bring a total of 3 guests with them this summer free of charge. After these 3 free visits have expired each guest must pay $5.00. All members and guests must sign-in with the lifeguards in the pool area. The sign-in sheet will be taken to the office each day for documentation. Please speak to the General Manager for further details.
H. WATER WINGS
For safety reasons we do not allow the use of water wings. Instead, we encourage you to use the PFD's that we provide.
I. POOL CLOSING
The pool remains open for rain but if lightning is spotted the pool will be cleared and closed until one half hour after the last lightning bolt strikes. Please call the office to find out when the pool is going to be reopened. Swimming lessons will not be cancelled if there is a storm but they will be moved inside the squash building where instruction will continue.
