Membership Letter from the President

I would like to take the opportunity to invite all members to attend the annual general meeting April 22nd as mentioned in the most recent newsletter. We will be reviewing 2009's successes and challenges and communicate the plans for 2010. There are four board of director positions opening this year so we need some positive, energetic members to replace our departing volunteer directors. Our goals this year are:

• provide safe and enjoyable programs and services
• increase membership to 2008 levels
• increase revenue to 2008 levels
• reduce maintenance and staff spending by 10% from 2009
   

Remember to renew your membership early to beat the HST and please invite your friends, family, coworkers and neighbours to join our club. The SRC is a great location to spend time together, get some exercise and enjoy the social events. This year we increased the rewards for the "Ambassador Program", we need your help attracting new members.

We are adding a "Comments" link to the SRC website. We plan for this to be the primary forum for Members and event Customers to tell us what they enjoyed and where we could improve as a club. We want to hear from you throughout the year! The board of directors will review the comments at the monthly meeting to watch for trends, recognize staff and to find ways to improve service whithin our limited budget.

Pam Tourigny our General Manager has been very busy preparing the programs and staffing for this summer. She is focusing on membership growth, existing program quality, increasing catered events, meeting, wedding bookings and cost controls as we go into 2010. This is a pivotal year where we need to recover from 2009 financial losses and increase the membership. I am confident we can do a great job with the energetic membership and club staff to make 2010 a success.
